This workshop was developed by the DR Environmental Film Festival (DREFF), an initiative of the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and the Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) jointly with Banreservas. The workshop provided participants with instructions on how to create and maintain elevated container gardens using organic farming techniques. The objectives of the workshop included: creating a community garden that satisfied recreational as well as occupational needs; teaching participants how to create organic container gardens; planting fast-growing vegetables; inculcating a sense of community while providing a source of healthy, organic food for the community.
