Barreras Primary and Middle School, Baní, DR.

As we continue our work in schools on the outskirts of Santo Domingo, we went to the Barreras School. Students there were interested, engaged and eager to learn. They were instructed on the use of organic farming techniques, planting fast-growing vegetables and took part in experimental hands-on activities that will help them improve their natural science studies in school.
Since its inception the program has created a total of 26 vegetable gardens across the country in the provinces of Santo Domingo, Santiago, San Cristobal, Baní, Monte Plata, and Azua.
